Institutional depression? Sinequan lifts depression…restores calm to the anxious, agitated mind. Sedative effect of once-a-day dosage improves duration and quality of sleep. Well tolerated - less likely than imipramine and amitriptyline to cause cardiovascular complications. Once-a-day dosage can obviate the need for the bedtime hypnotic., Doxepin, Pfizer, A black-and-white photo of an older woman standing alone in a hallway, leaning up against a window-sill, and looking downwards toward the bottom of the window.

Sinequan greater effect in depression/anxiety…less effect on the cardiovascular system. Sinequan is less likely than either imipramine or amitriptyline to cause cardiac conduction defects, both at therapeutic doses and in overdoses. Unlike amitriptyline and imipramine, Sinequan at the normal clinical dosage can be given with guanethidine and related compounds without blocking the anti-hypertensive effect. Sinequan will not pose the problems of euphoria and dependence. Only one case of euphoria was observed in 1,706 patients receiving Sinequan for up to 22 months. Unlike the phenothiazines, Sinequan has no tendency to cause opacities of the lens or cornea after long-term usage. Sinequan will not normally exert any appreciable effect on blood pressure or pulse rate. This holds true even in the elderly who often have exaggerated adverse reactions to psychotropic drugs., Doxepin, Pfizer, black text only no images

1977 British Journal of Psychiatry Sparine
-
Sparine allows senily patients to grow old without growing troublesome. Many patients become confused, agitated and difficult to manage as they grow older. They often become uno-operative and aggressive towards those who wish to care for them and place a considerable extra burden on nursing staff. Sparine (promazine hydrochloride) reduces agitation without causing over-sedation and helps to make them more co-operative, alert and active. Sparine calms and controls elderly, agitated patients., Promazine Hydrochloride, Wyeth, A black-and-white photo of an older woman's face; she has a negative-type expression, almost looking frustrated.

More often than not there's more to insomnia then sleeplessness…and there's more to Surmontil than its sedative action. Surmontil, the most sedative of the tricyclic antidepressants, taken as a single night-time dosage - not only induces sleep - but acts against the underlying anxiety and depression - so frequently the real causes of the insomnia. In contrast to hypnotics, which merely relieve a common symptoms of the complete syndrome, Surmontil means not only sound sleep, but makes sounds sense as well. Surmontil restores sleep, resolves depression., Trimipramine, May & Baker, A man, laying in bed, with eyes wide open while his wife is sleeping soundly beside him. There is a stack of binders beside him, potentially representing all the worries he has in his life.
