Help your depressed patients find the stamina they need when anxiety symptoms make the struggle seem greater. Nine out of ten depressed patients are also burdened by symptoms of anxiety. Current evidence shows that over 90% of depressed patients suffer from concurrent anxiety symptoms, including worry and psychic or somatic anxiety. And investigators in a recent study concluded that aniety symptoms must be relieved in order to treat the underlying depression. Introducing Paxil: as effective as tricyclic antidepressants at lifting depression and associated anxiety symptoms. Clinical studies have found Paxil to be at least as effective as imipramine and amitriptyline at lifting symptoms measured by the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression and as effective as imipramine in relieving anxiety symptoms according to both the HAM-D and Covi Anxiety Scales. Introducing Paxil: better tolerated than tricyclic antidepressants, to avoid adding to the struggle. Paxil is the most selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor available in Canada, so side effects may be less of a concern. Paxil has proven to be better tolerated than imipramine and amitriptyline, with a lower incidence of anticholinergic effects. Paxil ending the dark night of depression and its anxiety. |
