The deadliest invader on the battlefield didn't wear an enemy uniform. In World War II, a solder could survive enemy bullets, but not the infections caused by a simple scratch. Thousands of solders died needlessly, until someone created a way to mass produce a new drug that would change the lives of millions. The drug was penicillin. The company was Pfizer. Half a century later, the war continues. But today, our enemy is disease. And we're fighting it with some of the most advanced weapons in the world. One day soon, we hope to declare victory over Alzheimer's. To end the pain of arthritis. Or to conquer the mystery of cancer. Until then, our fight continues, everyday.
