Note |
To a Frenchman price is sometimes less important than tradition.
The French are great respecters of the past. Bordeaux deserves special respect because the region has a tradition of wine-making which stretches back over 20 centuries of French history, a tradition which has stubbornly survived revolution, occupations and countless wars. To a Frenchman (and indeed to connoisseurs of fine wines the world over ) the appellation controlee wines of Bordeaux are unique. Even if the wines of other countries could match their quality, they are far too late to match their history.
