"I'd been planning Joey's party all week. For a surprise, I even baked nickels and dimes right into the cake. "Everything was going great. Eight little eight-year olds just having a ball. Then, the crunch came. During Happy Birthday, Tommy spilled his pop all over Steven's head. "That was the end of any kind of order. Everyone got in the act, even Trixie, our Cocker Spaniel. "It was a super party. I enjoyed it almost as much as the kids. But did I ever need a break. A few minutes to relax and get myself together again. I just sat down with a cup of tea. It gave me a few very special moments to think about birthdays, and kids, and how important they both are. It was a nice feeling."
